Today if I could say anything
I'd beg you to never go away
I ask that you protect your little girls heart
from all the hell that comes my way
I wouldn't ask that you stop the tears,
but just that you be there to wipe them away
I'd pray that
on days like today

that you wrap me in your arms

but really
the one thing I really want today
is a hug
a kiss on the forehead
